Home of the Forest Hills Central High School Rowing Team
Geoff has been involved in rowing for 13 years. He began rowing at Forest Hills Northern in the spring of 2004 during his junior year. He spent the following two summers rowing in a competitive summer program in the Grand Rapids area. Geoff attended Grand Valley State University where he stroked the Varsity 8+ for 4 years, twice competed at the Royal Henley Regatta in Henley-on-Thames, England, and spent one summer in the senior development camp at Vesper Rowing Club in Philadelphia. He graduated from GVSU in 2009 with a BS in Biomedical Sciences. For the last three years he coached the Grand Valley Freshmen men, with one bronze medalist Lightweight 8 and one 4th place Heavyweight 8 in the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia. He comes back to the Forest Hills program with the intention of providing guidance and structure to a historied program to bring it to the next level.
Nichole began her rowing career at Northern Michigan University, after two years of being a scholarship volleyball player at Henry Ford Community College. After her novice season she transferred to Grand Valley State University, where she double majored in Psychology and Criminal Justice. While rowing at GVSU, she won two National Championships, and was invited to the Under 23 National Team Identification Camp, and placed 3rd at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta. In her senior season, Nichole was honored as a 1st Team All-American athlete at the ACRA National Championships, in Gainesville, GA. Nichole will be coaching a bit from the sidelines this Spring, as she and Geoff welcomed their first child, a girl, to their family in March.
Chad rowed in high school and rowed every seat. He continued that flexibility by continuing to row in every seat while a rower at GVSU. Coach Condon started coaching at FHC in 2015. This will be Coach Condon's second year as Varsity Men's coach.
Hallie Condon Varsity Men Coach
Hallie attended Ann Arbor Pioneer High School and rowed bow seat. She continued her rowing career in college, where she rowed as a coxswain for the Varsity Men's 8+. In 2010 Hallie coached the fall "Learn to Row" program at Walt Whitman High School in Washington, DC. She joined the FHC coaching team in Spring 2016, and coaches alongside her husband, Chad Condon.
Jordan Deneau Asst. Coach Varsity Women
Jordan attended Algonac High School in Algonac, MI. Jordan participated in various sports in high school, but her high school did not have a rowing team, so she was not able to compete in rowing. She was introduced to rowing at GVSU, where she attended college. She became quickly intrigued by the sport, and became a coxswain. Jordan had a great experience at GVSU and looks forward to sharing her enthusiasm and knowledge with the FHC rowers. This is Coach Jordan's first forray into coaching, as she helps out Coach Sadek with the women's varsity squad.
Hannah Ensing Asst. Coach Varsity Women
Hannah joined the FHC crew team as a freshman in the Fall of 2007, rowing in the 7th seat, and continued to row until she graduated in 2011. Hannah couldn't stay away from her favorite team and sport so she returned to the FHC rowing team in 2013 as an assistant coach for the novice women. The following year she took over as the novice women's head coach and is currently a coach with the Varsity women.
Todd joined the FHC Rowing program, first as a volunteer in 2011 then Boosters Board Member through 2014, as his children began the sport. Todd was a high school and collegiate swimmer at Grand Rapids Junior (Community) College, swimming in the National Championships in 1989. Todd and Head Coach Geoff Sadek together began the winter training program. Todd was an Assistant Coach with the Varsity Men in 2014 and in Spring of 2015, Todd helped coach the Novice women. The 2016 season found Todd helping get the FHC sculling program up and running. His willingness to head up the sculling, has allowed FHC crew to get more rowers in boats and make the team even more competitive.
Olivia joined the FHC crew team as a freshman in 2007, rowing 5 seat, and continued to row all four years of high school. She currently attends GVSU and is graduating Spring 2017. She started coaching with FHC in 2012 as a novice coach and continues to help the novice women become highly successful in their boats.
